How is a rental kart made?

Reliable, safe, durable and capable of offering an engaging driving experience: these are the fundamental characteristics of a rental kart. But how is a rental kart made? What technologies and production processes guarantee its performance and durability?

To find out, let's take a look at the Rental Kart Division of OTK Kart Group, a leading company in the karting sector for over 40 years. At the Prevalle (Italy) factory, every Viper Kart is conceived, designed and manufactured following the "100% Made in OTK" approach, drawing on the company's know-how gained in international competitions.

Through this exclusive OTK factory tour, we will discover how design, safety and technological innovation can combine to create the latest generation of Viper Kart products.

Innovation and development

The creation of a rental kart begins in the technical office of the Rental Kart Division of OTK Kart Group, where specialised engineers use 2D and 3D software to design every detail of the chassis and its components. The goal is to develop a vehicle designed exclusively for rental, capable of withstanding intensive use and the specific stresses to which it is subjected, while ensuring maximum driving pleasure.

Safety technologies

Safety is an essential element in rental karts. OTK Kart Group has its own team dedicated to the design and testing of innovative solutions, such as the double protection system or the steering column with shock absorber, to name just two. Each system is tested both in the laboratory (including crash tests) and on the track to ensure maximum driver protection.

Production technologies

The production department is the driving force behind the Rental Kart Division, where every component of the Viper Kart is manufactured with the utmost precision and control. In a sector such as rental karting, reliability is a priority: for this reason, OTK has chosen to industrialise and automate its production, eliminating the inaccuracies typical of craftsmanship, even when carried out by specialised operators.

Advanced technologies such as three-dimensional laser cutting of sheet metal, controlled deformation bending of tubes, robotic welding of chassis and 4- and 5-axis CNC machining allow for a high level of precision, applying automotive industry production standards to Viper Kart products.

The factories are divided into departments specialising in the materials and components processed, transforming raw materials into finished products with an efficient workflow. Thanks to this system, OTK Kart Group responds quickly to the demands of a market that spans over 80 countries.

Advanced quality control

Quality is monitored at every stage of production through a rigorous programme that begins with testing of incoming raw materials and continues throughout the production process with dimensional checks, 3D scans and resistance tests. Production equipment is also subject to periodic inspections to ensure consistent standards of excellence. This approach ensures high standards of efficiency, performance and reliability across the entire Viper Kart range.
